Top Finished ,upcoming project FMQ

Just in case you miss how Top pinwheels was made here  you can take an idea , although in the web you can find lots of tutorials like Jenny from the Missouri StarQuilt Co.as I said in last post.

The Top is ready to be a part of a sandwich (and be eaten lol)  I have to deciced yet what backing will be fine and how to Quilt to avoid be spoiled , because I was conscious at every stitch , doing my best..
I'm afraid how to finish that project...too much white on it , is for that I tell myself  'Upcoming project' ,in itself it is .
Some fun but at same time lot of work to decide about it.
*********************************

I chose  that pattern to layout , diamonds shape, I had this clear from the beginning.

Border is same colour that finished the square top ..allows more breaddth and makes it bigger.
I used only one charm pack.

It seems all green border but is a beautiful green dots.

More will following !...seguiremos con mas azanias ...

Feliz semana

Tutorial molinillos al viento/ TUTO Pinwheels in the wind ........

If you take a look in my post there are a great quantity of Pinwheels the I have been doing lately , That msst I love from Patchwork is how different can be , never the same !

We past information each other , we teach each other ...even though learning from a Tutorial ,our project  shows owner style, the colours and combinations are unique. Always surprises me !

Following what I'm doing now...stay tuned how I will finish that project ... unknown :-))

The tutorial is put out by the Missouri Star Quilt company and Here step by step (other measures an bite different)
I used 1 Charm Pack ' Chantilly ' from Moda Fabric that  I have bought in Green fairy quilts  they have very good prices and great range of pre-cuts fabrics .
I have been thinking several combinations..I wanted 4 prints mix match needed in a block  . For this time I wanted something more easy to start ..and I used pre-cuts.

1- Cutting HST (half sq triangles)
juego dentro de 1 bloc  /prints matching in a block
2- Each print triangle in a block has :
a)  the same triangle in white (my choice for contrast) sewing together one side...will have another triang.
b) 2 1/2 "  by  6 1/2 " plain white cotton sewing together one side, see bellow, next pic.

A TIP  after spoil 2 of them   :-))

SEWING  white plain fabric (at your choice) always on the left side in every one triangle...and
PRESS always first white and opening over the print fabric...you will have all seams allowance in place !!!  You will need to trim and square only a bit.

**********

TRUCO:

3- Sewing together on the basis of triangles as shown :
Do no trim leftover before sewing........see it
 4- Trimming after sewing

5- And you will have 1 part of the block when iron it ...Make four the same way

6- You must arrange towards get 4 direction towards the watch dials way...:-))   see bellow.

7- Mind on the back ..press strongly the centre and when you cut 2 stitches on it allows you make it flat.

 8- I love this combination...

And here you have ...I rather prefer layout them as a diamonds..following this one  is the sketch I have been
thinking ...

I have so much fun make them...it is really easy and so funny how they come out !

9- I like them as diamonds..let's see what happens ...lol

Hopefully could be interesting for you...happy sewing week !

Nos vemos por aqui, feliz semana !

Pinwheels , matching triangles / Molinillos, tria'gulos coincidentes

There are many ways to show Pinwheels..even sewing them ..Do you remember them?
We bought  as children in Fares to be shown in balconies and terraces...and see them turn around with the wind ..
There is nothing more exciting than challenge science with them !! Isn't it funny ?
*************

I will show you an interpretation of Sewing Pinwheels in a cushion....I do better with fabric than paper...:-))
I love how this cushion turns up ! I saw in Corey's blog , you can find here  her tutorial , I love the fabrics she used , a variety little print flowers from Liberty.
I use an Avalon design by Moda fabrics...I love this print fabrics, were awaiting for a nice project.

Here we are ....isn't it nice stitched in diagonal ? I was excited doing (my best)..Enjoy !

    Measures: 22 x 20 inches  /   5 cm x 51 cm
Terminado con un cordoncillo en el bies.

Finished by a cord inner bias red stripes...all in cotton, wadding fabrics and thread..even the cord is cotton.

French Roses, European Country House / Casas Rusticas Europeas..

****************
I always pay an homage to the French and Scandinavian design (European cottage) , it reflects in my work,
freshness and warm comfort in a neutral light walls, white and beige, with big flowers , colours, or light roses
that highlight a piece in the corner , a furniture or a sofa in the room. I always prefer the 'soul' from an old countryside house its roots and its rough woods, giving  personality and a cosy warm spirit to the house.

With all of that, no strange I fall in love for those French Roses Quilt  raw edges  in Christa blog  where you can buy the pattern , I made it by my own style, and as usually, cutting  my own cardboard pattern ..easy and you don't want to worry for a block full of right angles..as a child playing and  trimming paper dolls ..lol

What do you think? Can you imagine my soft colours quilt roses in a white ambiance to create fresh and gentle look....I do ! I truly enjoy every stitch from that quilt.

Cardboard TEMPLATE

4 sizes flowers each print fabric of your choice
I have cut 11 different print fabrics to combine

After trying ramdonly combinations of them I decided that:
I didn't like in 4 prints in one flower,
I rather preferred combine 2 prints in each one !

Like that ! I love that combination, that is the flowers I want

Et voila !!!

4 x 5 flowers in total , measures : 112 x 132 cm   / 44" by  53"

 FMQ (free Motion Roses )

Backing with a  beautiful vintage fabric combine with  new fabric from Gutterman (both are cotton)

isn't it gorgeous back flowers ???

compare delicate tulip with vintage flowers....

Baby blanket or sofa blanket ...do you want to curl up on it ??

Is the first F.R.Q. I do but will not be the last..in fact the next will be made with more than a 1/4 seams allowance to get more relieve when washed...I was afraid with this one..I do not main even more raw edges
for the next...I love it how come up! I saw in Christa's blog...

Happy sew week  ! I hope that inspire you :-))  Here you can see prices and more ideas to buy, Many thanks !!

**********
